Picture A Scientist
Picture a scientist! Are you imagining an old man in a lab coat mixing dubious chemicals in little flasks? As International Women’s Day is coming around, SIOS invites you to challenge your preconceptions of what a “typical” scientist looks like. Join us for a movie screening of Picture A Scientist. In this documentary, women scientists from various disciplines talk about their experiences in STEM and about the struggles and inequalities they have faced. The movie demonstrates the critical role women play in today’s science while also shedding light on the problems, inequalities, and discrimination that still remain in modern STEM.
Join us for a dive into the feminist perspective of science on 13.03.2026 at 17:00 on the Roeterseilandcampus in room M1.01 (Plantage Muidergracht 12, 1018TV, Amsterdam).
